Browser and System settings

Because Markables is a web based application, there are a few things relating to your browser and system settings that could prevent you from logging into your account.

  • Try logging in through a different browser than the one you're currently using. If you're not able to log in successfully you'll want to clear your cache and delete your cookies in the original browser. You can generally find the option to clear your cache and cookies in the Internet Options or Preferences area of your browser along with your cookies, history, etc.
  • Make sure you're using the most recent stable release version of your preferred browser. We can't promise full support for beta or developer versions.

    3. Microsoft Internet Explorer (9 and above)
    4. Google Chrome
    5. Mobile browser iOS: Safari
    6. Mobile browser Android: Chrome
  • Make sure that JavaScript is enabled in your preferred browser.
  • Your browser needs to have cookies turned on. Markables uses session cookies to help our website remember page and data changes made as you move page to page.
  • Do you have any browser add-ons or plugins installed? These add-ons can block cookies from being stored in your browser and prevent you from successfully logging into the app.
  • The minimum screen resolution should be set to 1024 x 768 for optimal viewing. If you're using a Netbook, try setting the resolution to 1200 x 800 if you're seeing things out of place in the application.

Markables is a web-based application that works in most web browsers. There's no need to download or install any software to your computer to use Markables.


Note

For security purposes, Markables allows only 10 attempts at processing your login information before we'll lock your account for a short bit. If you have trouble remembering your password and get locked out, request a password reset from the login screen to be sure you have the correct information.

 

How to delete Cookies

Markables uses cookies to track whether you're logged in to your account or not, but sometimes these need to be cleared out to be sure that everything is working as expected. Same goes for your browser cache (the browser caches or stores information to help make sure things load quickly).

Clearing your cookies and cache is a common troubleshooting step to make sure that old data isn't being stored and shown by the browser. Below are some resources to help you clear the cache and cookies in your browser of choice. If in doubt, you can also check the help files or support website for the browser you're using.

 

Cache

Frequently when you clear your cookies, you'll also have to clear your cache.

You can generally find the option to clear your cache in the Internet Options or Preferences area of your browser along with your cookies, history, etc.

 

Mobile Devices

The Markables site is designed to be responsive and mobile compatible to allow you to work in the full version of the application on the go.

When working on a mobile device, Markables will resize and adjust to any mobile device down to a 7" tablet, but phones are not yet supported. Keep an eye on our bulletin for more information.
