In an arbitration case negotiated before ICSID (International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes, an institution governed by the World Bank), Bridgestone (the tire company) acts as claimant against the Republic of Panama for an unlawful decision of the Panama Supreme Court in an opposition against Bridgestone’s trademark rights in Panama, and thereby Panama breaching the Trade Promotion Agreement between the US and Panama. Bridgestone claims damages under the relief-from-royalty method. In their memorial, claimants made reference to MARKABLES data to support their claim (see here).
